LET’S UNPACK YOUR LONG HAUL SPA KIT:

Every Long Haul Spa kit comes in a stunning, vegan Louenhide bag.  Louenhide is an iconic Aussie bag and accessories maker found right here in Queensland, Australia and distributing to the world.

The gorgeous print band around your Louenhide cosmetics bag is a print from original Aboriginal art, created specifically for us by Jonas Dare, a Barngarrla woman from South Australia.  The image depicts the 7 Sisters Songline, and the story as well as Jonas’ is found inside of the band.

Disinfecting wipes get you to ground zero – wiping down the area around your seat, your tray table, tv remote and most importantly….your hands!  Keep bacteria and viruses at a distance.

Dehydrated towels create a bit of inflight magic and help you get ready for your Long Haul Spa experience when used with the Cleansing Micellar Water.

To help pass the time on your flight and to stand by our promise of full transparency, we have included information about all our products and their ingredients in the Long Haul Spa Warrior Manual.  You can read up on each ingredient and why it is so fabulous for your skin.

Cleansing Micellar Water

In order to prepare for your Long Haul Spa treatment, we are going to insist that you get naked.  Get all of that makeup and pollution off your face and get “skin prepped” ready for the most amazing Long Haul flight skin pampering session ever!

For those of you unfamiliar with Micellar Water, you are in for a treat.

Micellar water is made up of micelles.  What the heck is a micelle? Glad you asked.   A micelle is an aggregate of molecules in a colloidal solution... aka tiny balls of cleansing oil molecules -  suspended in soft water.  Micelles are attracted to dirt and oil, so they are able to draw out impurities without drying out your skin.  Micellar water can be used as a facial wash, makeup remover and moisturizer all in one. Micellar water looks like water and has the viscosity of water but when you put it on your finger you will find that it has a different texture than water.

Micellar Water removes even the toughest waterproof makeup and melts cleanly off the skin, with zero irritation.  No alcohol, no rinsing required, and no oily residue. Wait a few seconds for it to dry and then Spritz with your Super Saturating Face Mist, followed by Serum Sorbet.  We suggest you do this again at the end of your flight before re-applying your makeup.

WHEN

Once you are settled in your seat and ready to take off your makeup.  Use again at the end of your flight before re-applying your makeup.

WHAT

What’s in it?  See below and cross-check with the glossary for more inflight brain stimulation.

Aqua; Glycerin; Lauryl Glucoside; Caprylyl/Capryl Glucoside; Benzyl Alcohol; Pelargonium Graveolens Oil; Dehydroacetic Acid; Citrus Medica Vulgaris Peel Oil; Citric Acid

Super Saturating Face Mist

Spritzing ….who doesn’t love it?  Face mists are like running through the sprinkler when you were a kid - but for your face.  And really, you can’t over-do it! Spritz after everything you do. Cleanse - spritz.

Serum Sorbet - Spritz.

Oil - Spritz.

Moisturise - spritz.

Re-apply your makeup - spritz.

Wake-up from a nap - spritz……spritz your cabin buddy, spritz the flight attendant

….you get the picture.

Why - because it restores the PH balance in your skin after cleansing,  helps to keep you hydrated, and helps your skin absorb other products like your serum or facial oil.  Mists will also help set your makeup and keep you dewy after you have deplaned. Keep spritzing people!

WHEN

After Cleansing Micellar Water, and anywhere anytime you need a burst of freshness and hydration your skin will love you!

WHAT

So - what’s in our Super Saturating Face Mist?  All sorts of good-for-you things, like Coconut Water  - rich with vitamins and minerals, Kiwi Fruit and Green Tea extract to tone, nourish and protect, and Aloe Vera to soothe and calm.  Sounds yummy - tastes terrible.

Aqua, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Water, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Polysorbate 20, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Fruit Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green tea) Extract, Ethylhexylglycerin

Serum Sorbet

Hard enough to know what a serum is, let alone a Serum Sorbet - right?  So let’s start with what exactly is a serum (‘cause we all know what sorbet is)….

Serum is a hydration vehicle that is made up of smaller molecules than moisturisers and can deliver powerful active ingredients more deeply into the skin.  Serum is applied after cleansing and spritzing and before moisturising. Surprisingly each of these components does a similar but different job. Where a moisturiser will create a barrier, a serum will do a deep dive and deliver little packets of goodness where they can be the most effective - deep in the epidermis - moisturising, fighting free radicals and basically changing your life for the better. Using a serum under your moisturizer helps lock in extra moisture that you will need on a long-haul flight. Serums are traditionally water-based, however, some face oils are marketed as serums... I know, right?  It’s all very confusing. Our serum is water-based but goes on like a cream and then melts into the skin like water (or sorbet in the sun - get it?) for easy application and fantastic absorption.

Serum. Sorbet.

Don’t eat it.

Protecting & Rejuvenationg Facial Oil

Superfine, super-potent plant oils are the ultimate nourishment and hydration for our skin, feeding the skin with essential fatty acids of Omega 3, 6 & 9, powerful antioxidants, vitamins and minerals. Long Haul Spa has chosen only the most skin-loving oils that are easily absorbed to protect your skin while flying.  It’s like the tonic for your gin.

For many of us, the thought of putting oil on our face is completely contradictory to what we think we should be doing.  In fact, I spent years trying to get the oil off! However, we now know this…. stripping the oil off of your face actually causes your skin to make more oil.  Which makes your skin oilier and more congested (blocked up, blackheads, dead cells - all the nasties…)

It’s a vicious circle.

Let’s make it a righteous circle, shall we?

The oil that occurs naturally on our skin (sebum) keeps bacteria out and water in.  As a cleanser, oils pull excess sebum, grime, bacteria and makeup out of your pores.  As a moisturiser - face oils are lipophilic - lipophilic substances make the skin water-resistant and reduce the transepidermal water loss, protecting the skin against dehydration - super important in an aircraft cabin with humidity levels that rival the desert. By filling up microscopic indentations in the skin oils lead to a noticeable smoothening of the skin which simultaneously also reduces minor wrinkles.  Facial oils are also rich in antioxidants and protect from free radicals - including UV rays - which can be intensified at 35,000 ft. And many have anti-inflammatory properties - which can be great for eczema, rashes, rosacea and other irritating irritants.

WHEN

After Serum Sorbet, before Super Hydrating Gel Face Mask

WHAT

So - what’s in our facial oil….?  A fusion of the world’s most nutrient-rich and precious plant oils from Africa and New Zealand;

Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avacado) Oil, Sclerocarya Birrea Oil, Citrullus Lanatus (Watermelon) Seed Oil, Schinziophyton Rautanenii Kernel oil, Adansonia Digitata Seed Oil, Actinidia Chinensis (Kiwi) Oil, Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens (Geranium) Oil, Citrus Medica Vulgaris (lemon) Peel Oil, Rose Essential oil, Tocopheryl Acetate,  Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract

Check the ingredients glossary for what each of these elements does to give you a glowing epidermis. Spoiler alert - there are some heroes in there!   2-3 drops are all you need after Serum Sorbet. And be kind to your cuticles - this oil is great on your hands, cuticles and any other rough patches you may have (hello elbows!).  I actually use it on my hair….

Super Hydrating Gel Face Mask

We’ve all seen it - the sheet masks.   Channelling Jason from Friday the 13th…..  gotta say - they are the skincare version of “Crocs” - neither should be seen outside of the house.  Our Gel Face Mask is a more discrete face mask that can be worn for an entire flight - or in quarantine - without embarrassment.  This super-infusion mask will not only hydrate your skin to softness and plumpness, but it's going to protect it from all sorts of localised nastiness (super dry, bacteria and virus infused recycled air) while you have it on.  Like a cocoon for your face - you will emerge like a butterfly - without the wings…..

Binge-watch cat videos, write that report or nap across the Atlantic - no one will know your secret.  The longer it’s on, the better. What's more, the mask's formula is clear, meaning your fellow passengers will be clueless to the beauty spa happening in seat 34K.

Remove with Cleansing Micellar Water before re-applying makeup.
